F-V| v [M] Team Crimson at Cerbere Landing

For Valour were looking to defend their 2nd position on the Gamearena 8v8 ladder against the undefeated Ministry of Gaming: Team Crimson. We chose to go on an old favourite, Cerebere Landing. F-V have had mixed success on this map, with a narrow win against PTV on it, as well as as a narrow loss to Avant-Garde on it.

Round 1

FV as PAC, M As EU

A standard rollout, F-V pushed a two man jeep straight up the middle, with Drakon bailing and having a squad spawn on him. We took South Town Centre very easily, getting off the bleed straight away. After a small stalemate with a few unsuccessful jeep pushes from both sides, F-V pushed their inf squad up onto the Roadblock flag. After an intense few minutes, For Valour capped Roadblock, putting [M] on the bleed and just allowing us to lockdown the flag. [M] did not allow this, getting an inf squad on the flag no less then 2 minutes after we took it and managed to grey the flag. A quick regroup saw F-V push them off and lock down the round, with a decent but average round 1 win.

Round 2

FV as EU, M as PAC

Coming into this round, we still felt we had plenty of work to do, despite having a resonable amount of tickets to play with. Right off the bat, an [M] car breached to Command, and despite 3 of us suiciding, we failed to kill a single one, including the car. This put the pressure straight back onto us, with [M] gunning a second jeep into Roadblock and taking it with no resistance. We watched the tickets for [M] slowly count down, and attempted to assemble a push on Roadblock. Our For Valour squad was a tad bit sloppy, and eventually one of the [M] cars made it to our last flag and had a squad spawn, capping it almost instantly. A last ditch effort by Squ1sh3r nailed their car, but alas it was too late, with the last of us mopped up by the [M] infantry.

F-V v MERC - Shuia Taiba

Round 1

FV as PAC, MERC As EU

The plan was simple get control of Central Base and Office and if the opportunity arose to counter attack their central push and take freezers too. Well things went to plan, we had a smooth roll out and got control of Central early and also picked up our back flag Office. We consolidated our defences and locked down the front line in preparation for the inevitable counter attack. After a few probing jeep runs from MERC their armor pushed. We held our ground and destroyed there armor then counter pushed them off Freezers while they where weak. We held the three capable flags for the rest of the round.

Round 2

FV as EU, MERC as PAC

Basically the plan was a mirror of the 1st round plan. The roll out was successful and after a hard fought battle at Central we won the flag and the bleed. Merc managed to breech our defences a few times with a fast jeep, but was quickly mopped up by our own jeeps and Binstar on the rorshe. Binstar managed to emp/orby the MERC APC and our armor cleaned up the enemy walker and tank leaving MERC vulnerable again, so we pushed into Office. This was successful and again we had the three capable flags leaving MERC only their Main. We locked down the front line and managed to hold for the duration of the round.

F-V v Clan A - Suez Canal
The Challenge for 2nd place!

Round 1

[^] clan A as PAC, F-V| As EU

The first round started and F-V| stormed out of the uncap in a rollout of armoured fury with the Jeep, Two A8 Tigers and the EU Walker taking charge across to inner bridge lock. Straight away Hospitallar pulled off two excellent kills with a long range tank shot which struck the PAC jeep as it was stationary outside of the Outerbridge lock flag. The jeeps from both teams engaged in the usual duals as they tested each teams defence before push finaly came to shove and the [^] clan's main jeep went down and F-V| pushed. Coordinating both commander assets, highly skilled jeep squads and armour allowed for F-V to push in unison towards the [^] flags. Almost quicker than it had begun, the round had finished if F-V|'s favour with a strong cap out.

Round 2

[^] clan A EU, F-V| as PAC

The second round rolled out much as the first did with the jeep barraling out of the uncap, being closely followed by the armour. Due to the large ticket buffer FV set there positions up to only play defensively, atleast until the game was secured (18 tickets). Wave after wave of jeeps came from the Clan A's side of the canal, each trying to breach to get them the all important cap out. Unfortunately regardless of their efforts, within a few minutes, Clan A had lost the match with their tickets dropping below the required level.

This is where the round got interesting - After securing the win, the boys at FV began to take a new stance on the map, and prepared for their own push. Both of FV's Jeeps sped across the map heading for the EU main (Refugee Camp) and got there with little resistance - The flag dropped and was raised again, this time sporting the PAC flag.

Clan A were not about to give up though - they had plans of their own. Whilst FV pushed heavily onto Clan A's back flags, the main clan A jeep had made it around to a completely unprotected PAC main (trash) which was capped within seconds of arriving. After both teams quickly loaded up jeeps they both moved for the next flags available - this leading to a complete reversal of flags on the map.

FV now held Refugee and Inner bridge, whilst Clan A held Trash Dump and Outer bridge!

Both teams tried to push without luck onto other flags to cap them for some time before Clan A eventually was successful in moving in and capping back the poorly defended EU main of Refugee Camp. This cap would allow them to respawn in their armour!

Whilst FV picked and picked at the defences at their old main, trash dump, the rest of their team fought desperately to hold inner bridge, which at this stage was being attacked by both the A8 Tigers and the Walker from the EU main. Migs2k, however, saved the day when he was able to steal (after killing the pilot) a walker that was being repaired at the back of inner bridge lock. A quick change after a full repair and now the walker was being piloted by Rozalator - It was time to bring the pain - but first, he had to save FV's assess.

Whilst this had been going on - a single clan A member had greyed FV's Last flag - effectively capping them out. Just like in the NGR competition, Rozalator once again saved the day with the walker marching up the innerbridge stairs and capping it back for FV whilst he was almost the last FV member alive!

With the flag turning in FV's favour all the inf spawned in and resumed their attack on the flags. FV's inf managed to push and cap back Trash Dump and Outer bridge lock. Turning the round from a cap out into a 3 flag lock down, the FV boys finaly took the last Clan A ticket.

We are currently recruiting for our 2142 division who are competing in season 4 of the Game Arena 2142 ladder.
For Valour has competed and finished with strong results in the last three of the Game Arena 2142 seasons, including a Grand Final in S3, and also took part in the BF Masters $2000 competition run by nGR. With season 4 now under way we are gearing up to be just as competitive and are aiming for better results.
We are searching for a couple of experienced 2142 players (ladder match experience preferable) to help fill our ranks. Recruits must be competent with all kits at a tier 0 level; however, through regular organised practices, scrims and 'pub' sessions we will aim to advance the general skills of all recruits.

So, what are you waiting for?

F-V v Rss on Belgrade

After a disappointing loss last week to INS - and an 8 day break between matches - F-V were on the lookout to regain morale and continue the charge on the Gamearena ladder. Tonight we faced Rss on one of our weaker maps, Belgrade.

Round 1

(128) F-V| as PAC, RSS as EU (0)
F-V started with a very quick rollout, managing to beat Rss to the Statue flag and gain a foothold on the area. After a drawn out stalemate, a small inf squad supported by Mr. Rozalator in the walker pushed hard on the Com tower flag, eventually securing all 3 and putting Rss on the "mega bleed." Here a very lol moment occured, as F-V attempted to steal the walker, our squad leader disco ran over the two teammates he was dropping off. After a few lols in vent we got back to it, pushing a squad of 4 onto the walker spawn. After taking it, F-V camped Rss into the main and they were never able to get off the bleed.

Round 2

(119) F-V| as EU, RSS as PAC (0)
The second round started much like the first, with F-V quicker to Statue and managing to repell the Rss rollout. From here an Rss squad of 4 tried to flank the West of Com Tower. As 4 quickly became 6, once again Rozalator came in to save the day, scaring them off and taking out 2 in the process. As Rss^ tried to regroup their forces, F-V| pushed hard the Ruins flag, and entered the base for another walker steal attempt (this time without running over teammates). Hospitaller managed the walker steal, and a bit of a WTF? moment happened here, as we suddenly lost Coms in about 2 seconds flat. A UAV revealead no less then their entire team in the coms area. Rss^ fought hard to stay off the bleed and stop getting camped, but by now the damage had been done, with F-V taking out round 2 119-0
